INGREDIENTS
4 firm apples
4 tbsp light brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
4 small pats of butter
Optional: walnuts, raisins, or a splash of port wine

INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).STEP 2
Core the apples, leaving the base intact to hold the filling.STEP 3
Place the apples in a Scotia baking dish and fill each core with 1 tbsp of brown sugar, a pinch of cinnamon, and a small pat of butter. Optional: stir in some raisins or chopped walnuts for extra texture and flavor.STEP 4
Add a bit of water (or port wine) to the bottom of the dish.STEP 5
Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until tender and golden.STEP 6
