Placing an order in the COSTA NOVA online store is very simple:
1. Find the product you want and select the color (when applicable) and desired quantity;
2. Add the product to the Cart by clicking “Add to Cart”;
3. If you are ready to finish your purchase, click “View cart”; otherwise, continue shopping;
4. In your cart, confirm the products and quantities in your order (you can remove products and/or change quantities);
5. If you have a discount voucher or promo code, insert it, click “Apply”, and then “Checkout”;
6. Log in to your account, create an account, or proceed as a guest;
7. Confirm your details and shipping/billing addresses and select the payment method;
8. Accept the Terms and Conditions and click “Secure payment”. Note that for Visa/Mastercard you will be redirected to a secure payment form;
9. Complete the payment and confirm your order. Your order number is generated at the top of the page;
10. Within 24 hours, you will receive an order confirmation email;
11. Your order will be processed and shipped to the address you provide.

Online purchases on the COSTA NOVA website can be made in mainland Portugal, the Azores and Madeira archipelagos, Spain, the Balearic and Canary Islands, France (excluding the islands), Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, the United Kingdom (mainland), the Isle of Wight, the Isles of Scilly, Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Ireland, and the United States of America.

No. You can check out as a guest and we will only request the essential data needed to process your order.
However, COSTA NOVA recommends creating an account. As a registered customer, you can access your personal area (where you can edit your data), check out faster, track your orders, and manage your address list.
All fine stoneware pieces have high thermal shock resistance, withstanding temperature variations between -20°C and 250°C. The maximum recommended thermal variation is 180°C. All stoneware products can be safely used in the oven, microwave, and freezer.
Recommendations:
- Avoid placing pieces directly from the oven onto a cold surface.
- Do not use stoneware directly over an open flame.
- Avoid using craquelé* surfaces in the oven or freezer (e.g., Cristal-Nacar, Dori, Lisboa, Madeira, Riviera and Elements-Algarve).
*Craquelé glaze is always reactive.
Dishwasher safe
All pieces are easy to clean and withstand abrasive detergents thanks to their high durability and low porosity. Most items can be washed in the dishwasher for daily use.
Recommendations:
- Ensure pieces do not touch or knock against each other during washing.
- Handwash large or more delicate items.
- PVD gold finishes (Impressions, Riviera and Taormina): do not use in oven, microwave or freezer. Handwash is recommended.
- Protect Lagoa Metal glaze by avoiding prolonged contact with acidic foods.
Made of high-quality 18/10 stainless steel, all COSTA NOVA flatware is designed for exceptional durability and daily use. To maintain original qualities, we recommend:
- Remove food residues after each use to avoid prolonged contact.
- For handwashing, use warm water, neutral detergent, and a soft cloth/sponge.
- Do not use abrasive agents or harsh mechanical action.
- Place flatware in the dishwasher basket/tray, keeping knives separate.
- Dry flatware with a soft cloth after each cycle.
- Pay special attention to knives (especially hollow-handle): they are sharper and more prone to oxidation. Dry thoroughly after washing.
- To restore shine and remove stains, rub gently with a soft cloth and a few drops of lemon juice.
- Special materials such as Fibber/Resin or PVD: machine wash only, following specifics: up to 60°C and detergent with less than 10% phosphates.
- Store flatware in a dry place.
- Moisturize resin handles with a suitable cream.
Steak/Cheese knives: do not machine wash wooden-handled knives. Handwash with a non-abrasive sponge and dry with a soft cloth to avoid corrosion or stains.
You may occasionally notice grayish marks on your pieces, especially on white glazes. This is normal and happens with all glaze types—not only matte or semi-matte finishes. These are simply metal traces left by cutlery and do not mean the piece is damaged.
To restore your ceramics, we recommend our Metal Mark Remover for Ceramics, or another food-safe metal mark remover. Shake well. Apply a small amount to a cloth and rub the marked surface. Rinse with water and wash with soap and water. Dry with a cloth and enjoy the result.
COSTA NOVA glassware collections are produced in pressed glass or hand-blown glass using semi-manual methods.
Wine glasses, water glasses and tumblers are dishwasher safe, though handwashing will extend their lifespan. To maintain original qualities:
- Before placing in the machine, rinse with warm water to remove residues.
- In the dishwasher, place glasses in proper racks to avoid scratches. Set washing and rinsing to 65°C, cycle between 90–120 seconds. Use the correct amount of rinse aid: excess can cause iridescence; too little can leave water spots.
- After washing, open the door slightly for 5–10 minutes to release steam and avoid halos caused by condensation.
Handwashing: wash glasses individually with non-abrasive detergent, warm water and a soft sponge/cloth. Dry with a microfiber cloth.
For large or delicate items (e.g., decanters, cloches, sprayed-color glasses Gomos and Sensa, and recycled glass pieces from Tosca), handwashing is recommended.
Made in Portugal from high-quality natural fibers, our linen collections are easy to use and care for. They can be machine washed and ironed according to each fabric’s specifications.

Handcrafted in Portugal, our leather accessories are vegetable-tanned using one of the oldest and most eco-friendly methods, resulting in durable leather that ages beautifully.
Care recommendations:
- Clean with a damp cloth.
- For maintenance, occasionally rub with a suitable oil.
COSTA NOVA wooden accessories are handcrafted in Portugal from premium-quality woods. Natural variations in tone and grain make each piece unique. To maintain original qualities:
- Handwash is recommended.
- Clean wooden pieces with a damp cloth; do not soak.
- Use mild dish detergent when necessary.
- To preserve wood, occasionally rub with food-safe mineral oil.
- Use boards and boxes only for dry foods.
- Periodically retreat wood items with wax or food-safe oil. Avoid perfumed oils, which can turn rancid. Walnut, linseed, coconut and flaxseed oils are good options.
Additional care:
- Never put wooden accessories in the dishwasher or soak them in water.
- If products feel rough after water contact, lightly sand with fine sandpaper and rehydrate with oil or wax.
COSTA NOVA cork accessories are produced either with 100% cork (Cork and Modern Storage) or with 20% cork and 80% recycled EVA (Cork). Recycled EVA is a byproduct from sole manufacturing waste—therefore a recycled, eco-friendly material. Care recommendations:
- For daily cleaning, use a soft, dry cloth to remove impurities.
- When necessary, use a damp cloth, avoiding excessive moisture.
- Store away from sunlight, humidity, and heat sources.
- Avoid strong alkalis, which can deteriorate cork.
- Although food-safe, avoid odor/flavor transfer (e.g., smoke).
- Do not place food directly on the surface.
Discount vouchers and/or promo codes are issued occasionally. To redeem, enter the code and click “Apply”. The discount will be applied to the order total at checkout.
The COSTA NOVA online store offers the following payment methods: Klarna*, and Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard).
For credit cards, the charge is made immediately after order placement.
All transactions are encrypted and 100% secure (for more details, see our Privacy Policy).

Yes, the invoice will be sent to the email address provided at purchase.
If you are a registered customer, the invoice will be available in “My Account” after the order has shipped.
If an ordered item is out of stock, our team will inform you by email of the new expected delivery date. If this exceeds your expectations, you may request a refund.
The refund will be processed using the same payment method used for the purchase. The refund process may take up to 14 days from the moment the stock unavailability is communicated.
Yes. You can change an order (product selection, quantities, shipping/billing addresses, payment methods) until it is confirmed in our system (after payment).
Once the order has been processed, changes are no longer possible. In such cases, we recommend canceling the order and placing a new one.
If you are a registered customer, check the order status in your personal area to confirm what can be changed.
You can receive your order at the address provided at checkout (home, workplace, or other), or in our physical stores in Aveiro, Porto and/or Lisbon. Check the available countries for delivery if in doubt.
From November 15 to January 5, in-store pickup is not available due to the high volume of orders.
Yes.
Registered customers can track their orders in their personal area. To see the exact location, insert the tracking number on the carrier’s platform.
Unregistered customers will receive an order confirmation email within 24 hours after payment, followed by a dispatch email with tracking instructions and the tracking number.
Store deliveries: customers are informed by email when the order arrives at the selected store. Pickup must be made within 7 days. After that, the order returns to the warehouse and pickup will incur delivery/collection costs.
Please present the order number and ID at pickup.
Yes. Please submit your request using the form available on the site with the subject “Order reshipping”.
Include your order number and the reshipping address. Reshipping implies new delivery charges.
• 1 day (after order shipment) for: Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island;
• 2 days (after order shipment) for: Maine, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Kentucky, West Virginia;
• 3 to 7 days (after order shipment) for all other states. Shipping is only processed after payment confirmation. Please note that delivery times may be slightly longer during holidays and festive periods.

Please submit your request using the form available on our website with the subject “Order cancellation”.
The order number must be included in your request.
You may return an item or order within 15 days of receipt under the following conditions:
a) The purchased item does not meet the customer’s needs;
b) Wrong item (the item does not match what was ordered);
c) Defective item;
d) Damaged item. Check the item upon delivery and note any transport damage on the waybill.
To exercise the right of return, contact us via the form on the site or by email at costanova@costanova.pt with the subject “Return”, or use the returns area in your customer account (only for case a)).
You must inform us of your intention to return within the stated period. Your message must include the reason for return and the order reference. Returns without prior notice will not be accepted.
Case a)
If the item does not meet your needs (case a), access your account, the “Orders” tab, and follow the return form steps. You will receive a confirmation email and should send the product by regular post to:

Cases b), c) and d)
Formalize the return by email to costanova@costanova.pt (subject “Return”) or via the form on the site. Include reasons and order reference. Returns without prior notice will not be accepted.
Items must be returned with the invoice, using all original packaging and fillers, by one of the following methods:
- By regular post to the address above.
- By carrier: contact us to schedule home pickup.
- In-store (only if the initial delivery method was Store Pickup).
Returns via customer account (registered customers only)
For case a), you can choose refund by store credit or money. In-store return is only possible if Store Pickup was chosen initially. Postal shipping costs are borne by the customer.

- Case a): return costs borne by the customer.
- Cases b), c) and d): costs borne by COSTA NOVA.
The refund will be issued after Quality Department assessment, to the original payment method, within about 30 days of receipt.
Note: Items that have been used, altered, damaged or without tag/packaging will not be accepted.
Variations not considered defects
Natural characteristics such as variations in grain, texture, knots or color are not considered defects. These are inherent to the artisanal nature of the products and should be expected and appreciated.
COSTA NOVA will refund the value of returned products, including the cost of our standard delivery option to the original delivery address, without undue delay and within a maximum of 14 days. We may withhold the refund until we receive the products back or until you provide proof of return. Additional taxes are non-refundable. For more information, please consult our Terms and Conditions.
If you are a registered customer, you may alternatively choose a store credit (valid for future purchases on the COSTA NOVA website), available in your personal area.
We are sorry if an item is not what you expected. Please contact our customer support via the contact form, indicating that the item is incorrect or defective. We will replace or refund it as soon as we receive it at our warehouse.
